"[Allen] has demonstrated keen financial acumen."
" She has mastered the details of the transit district’s finances and misguided labor contracts."
"She would bring much-needed critical thinking to the board and would be a huge improvement over Murray."
With 25 years of financial management experience in private industry in roles such as CPA, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Tax Manager, Auditor, and Business Owner, Debora Allen is well-known as a hard-working, dedicated change agent who takes on the most challenging problems and emerges with thoughtful, strategic solutions.
As a business consultant, she has worked tirelessly on formation, operational process improvement, financial management and analysis, mergers and acquisitions for businesses and non-profit organizations.
She has served as a Board Trustee on the Contra Costa County Employees Retirement System (CCCERA) since 2011, and spent hundreds of hours in pension-related training programs. Debora is now willing to contribute her financial experience to the taxpayers and riders of BART, with a vision of seeing BART revived into a state of the art transportation system for the future.

Bad decisions of past BART Directors have left us with:
“Debora Allen will bring an important voice and fiscally responsible vote into the BART boardroom. She’s smart, she’s tough, and she’s a problem solver. She will stand up to special interests and management incompetence and fight to improve BART while protecting the interest of taxpayers.”
“Debora Allen brings a refreshing new energy and approach to getting BART’s fiscal house in order. She will be a champion for the transit rider and taxpayer!”
“Debora Allen brings the business experience and financial acumen we need to lead BART in the right direction.”
“I trust Debora Allen to protect the taxpayers’ investment in BART, for the riders, the workers, and for the future of Bay Area living.”
“Debora’s experience in finance, accounting, construction and public pensions will provide valuable expertise to BART.”
“Our BART system is incredibly important to the residents of Contra Costa County. I am confident that Debora Allen will be strong leadership on the Board of Directors and a loud voice for transparency and financial accountability to the stakeholders as we rebuild BART into a world class transportation system of which we can all be proud.”
“Sadly, BART’s failed leadership has given us continued cost overruns, outmoded technology, runaway labor and pension costs, and crippling strikes. The public’s interest is not being represented. The BART Board needs Debora Allen to bring her energy and expertise to provide leadership to tackle these problems head on. We can’t continue the same old tired ways that have brought this system to a breaking point. We need to step up and fundamentally change how BART does business, and put the public’s interest first. Debora Allen will do just that.”
“Debora Allen has a proven background in business, giving her the keen ability to balance the need for BART infrastructure improvements with the reality of the given funding sources. She is honest and reliable and we taxpayers are lucky to have her run for BART Director.”
